MRCOOL VersaPro 24,000 BTU 2 Ton 18.1 SEER2 Central Ducted Heat Pump System - 2nd Gen
I was skeptical about buying from this website which popped up on a google search, but this transaction was very good with timely responses to requested updates. The transport company selected provided tracking updates and I received the HVAC unit with no damage. The Mrcool HVAC system I purchased is a DIY designed system with everything precharged. The air handler can be disassembled to reduce weight when installing. Line set is easy to connect. If using heat pump without heat strips, power is only required at outside unit, the provided interconnect cable provides power and signals to air handler. The downside is if a line set longer than 25 ' is needed, the cost of adding an additional line set with special connectors is very expensive.
On the positive side, the MRCOOL Versapro Includes many items that are required for the installation and I would expect to pay extra for them. They include the wall grommet, vibration pads, wiring between the condenser and air handler and thermostat. The installation is fairly easy.
The bad news, the instructions are not that great. The installation instructions are almost non-existent for the thermostat. I recommend downloading the instructions for the Innovair Slim 24th Wired Control manual. It is the same unit and it explains the wiring and pigtails included with that MRCOOL doesn't mention. The system heats and cool, but the room temperature and the display temperature and off by 7-10 degrees. There is a calibration function that supposedly exists but I have yet to find it. If I can get the calibration done, I would probably give it a 5 star review. I don't know if this will get published but Innovair makes these for MRCOOL. Their instructions are better. MRCOOL add the no vaccines which does make it easy to install. The Versapro is a great value and Chill Mini Splits is very helpful and they ship very quickly. I am installing a 2.5 ton Versapro now and another 2.0 ton shortly. I will write more reviews as I progress.
