12,000 BTU mini split air conditioners are highly efficient ductless air conditioning systems that are designed to cool a single room or space up to 550 square feet depending on insulation and ceiling height. There are DIY (Do It Yourself) models and there are also standard models that require a professional to install. The system consists of an outdoor unit, which houses the compressor and condenser, and an indoor unit, which contains the evaporator and air handler. The two units are connected by a small refrigerant lineset and electrical wiring, which allows for easy installation and flexibility in placement.
